The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) is the independent prosecuting authority of New South Wales (NSW) and is responsible for the prosecution of all serious offences committed against the laws of the State on behalf of the people of NSW. **About the role**

In this role, you will provide high quality general administrative and legal support to ODPP staff, including providing professional reception service, screening phone calls, performing clerical support duties and liaising with stakeholders within the justice system.

We are looking for people with sound communication and interpersonal skills who can exercise sound judgement, problem solve, and show ability to balance competing demands in a high volume and fast paced environment.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Provide general administrative and clerical support functions including organising meetings and conferences, word processing, data entry, record maintenance and maintaining stores and stationery
- Prepare correspondence, generate subpoena and police notices from MATTERS to assist Legal staff with practice management.
- Accurately compile and photocopy material for prosecution and assist Legal staff in case preparation.
- Provide quality reception service by screening all phone calls and responding to enquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
- A Talent Pool will be created for future ongoing and temporary positions that may arise over the next 18 months in all 3 offices._

**About you**
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to provide a reception service.
- Given the nature of the work the Office undertakes, you may be exposed to traumatic material, hence the ability to manage your wellbeing is important.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, confidentiality and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate solid organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to balance competing demands in a fast paced and time sensitive environment.
- Have high level accuracy and attention to detail to ensure integrity of data entry and file management.
- Demonstrate resilience and courage, integrity, commitment to customer service, and commitment to quality outcomes.
- Sound technology skills to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

**Interviews**

The interview process will be conducted virtually, and no travel will be required. The interview process will include capability-based assessments which may require your time and presence on more than one day.
