**Position Overview**
The Information Manager coordinates the FCA’s information governance activities, developing and implementing information policies, standards and work practices, and managing the OpenText information management system (IMS).

The Information Manager is responsible for the management of the OpenText information management system (IMS). The role liaises with IT, IMS users and system suppliers (as required) to manage and maintain IMS data and user security, and coordinate software upgrades and testing. The role is responsible for ensuring Information Management and IMS user documentation and online training is up-to-date and fit-for-purpose.

The Information Manager works collaboratively within the Information Management team, under limited supervision. The role may supervise other information management staff and is expected to build team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within the team. Working in a collaborative team environment, the Information Manager will share expertise to support team priorities and deliverables in alignment with the section’s goals.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail are essential in this role. Experience in managing and implementing information management projects would also aid you in this role.

Qualifications in information or records management is essential. Eligibility for RIMPA professional membership is highly desirable. An understanding of Australian Government information management requirements as they relate to the Court is desirable.

**Key Duties**
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with FCA staff to facilitate, educate, and support information governance and the management of the FCA’s digital and physical information assets in accordance with information management policy, standards and legislation.
- Plan and manage information governance compliance monitoring and reporting activities for the Information Governance Committee.
- Provide consistent technical information management advice, guidance, training and support to build information management capability and expertise within the FCA and improve the standard of information management.
- Provide support, guidance, and quality advice to staff in the use of the IMS. Monitor information management practices and provide training in the use of the IMS, as required.
- Liaise with IT, IMS users and system suppliers (as required) to manage and maintain IMS data and user security, and coordinate software upgrades and testing.
- Develop and maintain policies, standards, briefs, reports, presentations, training materials and other documents as required.
- Liaise with the information management third party storage provider, as required ensuring that contract compliance is achieved.
- Maintain an awareness and knowledge of changing standards and technologies within the information management industry; provide specialist advice on tools and new technologies that support FCA information and data management and achieve outcomes.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and facilitating information governance frameworks, strategies, policies, procedures, and initiative relevant to a large, geographically diverse Commonwealth agency,
- Demonstrated experience in managing an enterprise information or records management system, including working with other sections to manage and maintain data and user security and coordinate software upgrades and testing.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining productive relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- A highly motivated and proactive self-starter, who works effectively both in a small team and independently to achieve good quality and timely business outcomes.
- The ability to provide timely, compelling and concise advice to a broad range of staff.
- Highly effective communication skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated capability to develop and deliver high-level training materials, professional activities, and online content.
- Ability to interpret legislation and policies relevant to information and data management and provide advice on their implications.

**Other Requirements**
Qualifications in information or records management or equivalent experience is essential.

Some travel may be required to interstate locations.
