**Lead with Compassion: Director of Social Work Opportunity at SA Health**

As the Director of Social Work, you will lead a dedicated team of professionals, driving the delivery of exceptional social work services that prioritise patient-centred care. Your strategic vision and innovative approach will shape the future of social work within subacute services of SALHN, ensuring seamless collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Leveraging your extensive experience to advocate for the well-being of patients and their families, fostering a compassionate and inclusive healthcare environment.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Allied Health Director, this role is responsible for the management and provision of Social Work services to the Division of Rehabilitation, Aged and Palliative Care and associated programs, by maintaining a quality and cost effective service, ensuring compliance with professional standards of practice, providing a consultancy to State Government agencies and the Department of Health, leadership and expert advice and guidance to clinical and health professional staff. Duties for the role will include:

- Ensuring that service provision and the activities of the Division / Unit / Ward / Service are person and family centred and professionally and effectively conducted by contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
- Promoting a climate in which issues can be dealt with in an open, positive and productive manner,
- Developing budgets and monitoring and approving expenditure against those budgets,

**About you**:

- Must hold a recognised qualification within Social Work and be eligible for practicing memberships of the Australian Association of Social Workers,
- Effective communication skills with all levels within Div RAP including Staff, patients, and members of the Public,
- Previous management of a Health Unit.
