**About the role**:
As a leader in transport fuels and lubricants in Australia, the team at Ampol never waiver when it comes to safety, reliability, and efficiency. We have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our Lytton Refinery to lead and drive the execution of maintenance and reliability activities.
This position is critical to overseeing the efficient prioritisation and co-ordination of maintenance and shutdown activity.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Lead safety and business performance in the field and set performance standards.
- Review performance metrics for your team and asset area and generate gap closure plans
- Work cross functionally to ensure adequate maintenance strategies are deployed to meet reliability targets
- Ensure maintenance interventions are optimised to achieve cost effective reliable operation of plant
- Manage and design appropriate QA/QC systems to facilitate efficiently meeting quality goals
- Optimise key contracting relationships and achievement of service delivery
- Plan and deliver work within the maintenance budget and production targets
- Prioritise HSE requirements to meet safety outcomes
- Regularly engage with peers and key stakeholders to ensure optimal resourcing
- Develop, coach and lead the performance of 3 direct reports together with overseeing indirect reports and contractors
**About you**:
- To be successful in this role Tertiary qualifications in mechanical or electrical, reliability or engineering with 8 + years of relevant and recent experience in Refinery or Industrial Plant maintenance is essential.
- Trade qualifications in a relevant field and equivalent experience 10+ years in Refinery execution roles will also be highly regarded.
- Proven people management experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team as well as supervise and guide contractors
- Ability to make quick and calculated decisions based on data and knowledge on hand
- Demonstrated cross functional approach to ensure best practice outcome
- Strong achievement focus - high energy levels and commitment to results
- Experience in the management of maintenance, conversant in machinery design, condition monitoring, equipment failure investigation and analysis
- Ability to plan and manage long term capital budgeting
- Strong decision-making skills, willingness to delegate authority and responsibility, commitment to learning and continuous improvement
