**My Gateway** is seeking a Surveying and Spatial Information Trainee to join Camden Council. This role will see you work in the Information Management team, assisting in the creation and updating of the organisation’s Geographic Information System (GIS) and other key systems. As part of this traineeship, you will complete a Certificate III in Surveying and Spatial Information Services.

**Job tasks and responsibilities**:

- Creation and update of quality standards of GIS data set information
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of Cooperate LIS/GIS System
- Create mapping and report production to provide hardcopy output.
- Communicate effectively with customers to determine information requirements.
- Create and maintaining Corporate Land Information System (Civica Authority System)
- Creating and maintaining Corporate Geographical Information System
- Researching Development Application (DA) related information
- Assist with address numbering process
- Assist with propose road naming process
- Assist with naming public Open Space - and working with the NSW Geographic Names Board, the (GNB).

**Your attributes**:

- Highly motivated with a sound work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Interest for Geographical Information Systems
- Interest in technologies, programming and/or databases
- The ability to work productively and meet deadlines within a team environment.
- A sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products (words, excel, Power Point).

**Desirable**
- Previous exposure to Geographical Information Systems
- Ability understand Mapping Coordinates / location.
- Ability read and calculate areas and read perimeter
- Data analysis and geoprocessing experience/interest.

**Please note**: Ultimo Tafe is the only campus holding this course. Days are currently scheduled on Monday with day classes and Tuesday with evening classes. Trainee would work from home on Tuesday for Part of day and attend TAFE in night class
