$78,143 - $83,700 (plus Super) - Point Cook - VIC **The Role** The Air Force Imagery Archive (AFIA) is responsible for a catalogue of c.40TB of digital images and >3.5 million negatives which represent over one hundred years of Air Force history. As lead, the AFIA Curator is responsible for the access to, professional care, daily management and maintenance of the AFIA including its organisation, preservation and storage. The AFIA Curator will: - Under limited direction manage and operate within a defined records and information management framework - Deliver client-focused, professional and accurate imagery records management - Supervise subordinate APS, ADF and volunteer staff and provide database and process training - Maintain professional engagement with other Government agencies and external stakeholders - Maintain currency and compliance of legislative and policy conventions - Be responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of all AFIA output - Show excellent judgement dealing with sensitive issues **About our Team** Step inside the RAAF Museum at RAAF Base Point Cook and find out who the real heroes are. As part of a small team, this position is a considerable opportunity to contribute to the future access of a national collection. - Provide advice on the review and implementation of collections management relevant to the AFIA - Review and manage the rectification of legacy data integration and maintain current Defence imagery and metadata standards for the extant and future catalogue - Engage with Air Force imagery specialists or asset managers to review alternate AI or similar software opportunities - Seek additional opportunities for the efficiency of the AFIA through proven management skills - Have a proven ability to communicate clearly and build networks to achieve and deliver key outcomes - Act as an enthusiastic advocate and personal representative for the RAAF Museum in the community, by promoting its core business Information pack Opens in new window
