We are currently seeking a part-time permanent staff member to join our Arts and Culture team based at our offices in St Albans.
**The Role**:
Reporting to the Community and Performing Arts Seniors Officer, we are seeking a Community Arts Participation Officer. This position is based within the Arts and Culture team, with the portfolio of delivering Community Cultural Development (CCD) programs and projects.
Working within a Community Cultural Development (CCD) framework, you will work with community members, arts groups and individual artists to encourage and support the development of inclusive and innovative projects that strengthen, promote and support the community’s diversity, identity and resilience.
CCD describes activities that provide communities with the opportunity to tell their stories, build their creative skills and lead participation, development and delivery of arts and cultural practice.
To be considered you will have the proven ability to meet the organisational skills and key responsibilities as outlined in the attached Position Description. These relate to:
- Community Cultural Development Delivery
- Community Liaison and Linkages
- Arts and Cultural Administration
- Promotion and Public Relations
- Arts & Culture Planning and Policy
- Event Development and Delivery
**Key Selection Criteria**:
- A tertiary qualification in Community Cultural Development (CCD) or Community Development with practical experience working in the development of arts and cultural projects.
- Substantial experience, demonstrated knowledge and skills in initiating and leading the delivery of Community Cultural Development (CCD) projects and an understanding of their value to communities.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging and working with diverse artists and communities from a range of artistic disciplines and the ability to manage their needs.
- Proven ability to effectively manage projects, work plans, budgets and project teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience of building cohesive work teams.
- A demonstrated understanding of local government practices and processes.
- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours.
