**About Advancement**
The Advancement Office aims to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships between the University and its alumni, friends and benefactors. It is responsible for the management of programs relating to alumni and benefactors and provides services to and works collaboratively with faculties and other central administration areas.
**About the Role**
As the Leadership Giving Officer, you will support the Leadership Giving and Engagement team’s focus on mid-level giving to the University of Melbourne. You will actively manage portfolios of prospective and current donors capable of making substantial gifts, with a view to increasing the overall pool of donors, multi-year pledges and future major gift potential. You’ll engage and work with senior level staff, donors and volunteers, forging effective relationships with academic and professional colleagues.
Responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining a portfolio of 100-130+ current and prospective alumni donors, with a focus on the cultivation and solicitation of new gifts, renewals and upgrades in line with agreed priorities
- Achieving goals and metrics related to donor meetings, moves that strengthen / advance relationships, solicitations, gifts and other critical KPIs
- Preparing written funding proposals and donor correspondence
- Liaising with the Prospect Development and Customer Insights teams to ensure the continuous renewal of prospective donor portfolio
**About You**
As an experienced administrator, you have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a complex environment. You have advanced communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Your ability to exercise sound judgement and work with a high level of autonomy will set you up for success in this role.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience in Advancement
- Proven experience in soliciting gifts for fundraising initiatives, with a proven track record of success, or equivalent experience in a related relationship-development role that results in meeting and exceeding income KPIs
- An engaging, collaborative style that is well suited to working constructively with alumni, volunteers, donors and a broad cross-section of University colleagues
