**About the Role**

As the ICT Security Specialist you will design and evaluate the security systems that protect the organisation’s computer systems and data. You will analyse IT specifications and overall security risk, implement appropriate security measures and play a leadership role in any response to security breaches and incidents. Activities are undertaken in accordance with the ITIL service management framework.

**About You**

You will have a strong hands-on background in ICT Security as well as solid technical analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. As the ICT Security Specialist will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and technical environment, you be self-motivated and a team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration and organisational skills.

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Detailed understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, malicious code detection, and IDS/IPS concepts
- Experience in information security or related field
- Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques
- Understanding of how identify ICT system vulnerabilities, and how to avoid them
- Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding and minimising business impact

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Desirable - ITIL Foundation Certification
- Desirable - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, a related field, or equivalent experience
- Desirable - Post-graduate degree in information systems security or a related field
- Desirable - Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNP) Security certification, or equivalent
- Desirable - Security Certification CISSP, CISM
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a national police check as an essential selection component for this role._
