Your role at St John of Murdoch
You will be responsible for providing a quality service in the clerical support function and providing a high standard of reception service to a broad range of customers.
The Position
- Provides reception service for the department.
- Liaises with nursing staff, bed allocation aras and admissions
- Completes admission process of patients in accordance with department protocols.
- Maintains a high standard of telephone communication at all times and assists with paging requests.
- Provides a clerical service to the department, including the maintenance of department statistics, specialist contact lists, distribution of reports / documents to other departments as requested by management and executive.
- Receipts and secures any monies paid by patients.
- Monitors and orders stationery supplies.
- Provides computer support where necessary utilizing hospital formats.
- Generates and maintains accurate and complete patient records as per Medical Record Guidelines and Departmental procedures.
- Completes admission quotations, billing charges and billing of all patients including the liaison with health funds where necessary.
- Provides patient and families with information in regards to hospital fees.
Night shift availability is essential. Applicants will be considered for various vacancies over the next 6 months as they become available.
With well-developed interpersonal skills and high level of oral and written communication you will have the ability to liaise effectively with the service providers, the public, patients and all levels of staff.
A high level of attention to detail to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently will assist you to prioritise workload and collaborate within the team to achieve an efficient and effective service.
To succeed you will have demonstrated computer skills including Word, Excel, patient management system, knowledge of medical terminology and medical record procedures and practices.

- Salary: $64,355 to $69,469, plus 11% superannuation
- Casual position. 3 positions currently available.
