**The Opportunity**
This Federal agency is supporting and managing a transformative marketplace which supports people with disability and increases community engagement through more flexible access to benefits with a personalized plan and support team.
You will be joining a national, virtual team responsible for managing and triaging a pipeline of Participant-driven Plan reviews. This role can be optionally based out of the **Broadmeadows or Geelong offices.**
12 Mont initial term contract paying $58.50 per hour + Super.
**The Role**
**APS 6 Internal Review Case Officer** reporting into EL1 Assistant Director of Internal Review. Your responsibilities will include:
- You will have considerable level of public and internal contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues
- Working closely with prospective participants and participants to understand the nature and context of their request for a decision to be reviewed.
- Making evidence-based review decisions in line with the client's frameworks,
- Communicating effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for
- decisions, the review and appeals process and available options.
- Monitoring and managing caseloads and ensuring internal reviews are completed within a timely manner.
- Collaborating with team members to share and develop specialised knowledge in areas of
- expertise.
- Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and exercising judgment to undertake complex reviews and reach a considered outcome
- Build relationships with persons seeking reviews, and maintaining the relationship
- Analysing complex information, weighing conflicting information and reaching conclusions
- Ensuring that the internal review of decisions is completed within required standards
**About you**
- A high level of knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks within the disability sector
- An ability to develop plans and objectives for short term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.
- Experience supporting and working with people with disability and / or carers and family - Aged Care
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work in a team dealing with complex information
- Experience assessing complex information within legal and operating process guidelines to make fair and auditable decisions (review decisions assessable but the Administrative Appeals Tribunal)
- Ability to communicate outcomes both written and verbally
- Strong ability to document cases in a CRM or similar system and experience with MS Office suite
- Previous team leadership experience is preferred
