**About the Opportunity**

The Manager Production and Operations leads the team responsible for the production and delivery of experiences for Library audiences, including tours, events, learning programs, fellowships, and online and site-wide experiences. Utilising production management and operational and team leadership skills, the Manager
- Production and Operations ensure that audience experiences are practically and creatively developed and delivered, and effectively evaluated, ensuring accessible, informative and high-quality public programs for the Library. In addition, the Manager - Production and Operations bring critical audience and production insights into the design of existing and future programs.

**Reporting to the Head of Audience Engagement, and working closely with the Creative Programs Manager, your key accountabilities will include**:

- Lead a team of Production and Operations staff, employing their skills to produce and deliver exceptional audience experiences and ensuring high levels of customer service.
- Develop production and operation manuals and tools, to strengthen program delivery (including contributing to the development of an organisation wide event management system)
- Ensure programs are delivered in line with SLV and Audience Engagement's access and inclusion commitments and policies.
- Clearly define and scope the operations for program streams and major projects, contributing to production and programming budgets and managing production budgets to support a financially sustainable program and customer service model.
- Contribute to the development of operational roles and responsibilities for events delivered by other branches (such as philanthropic events and tenants' events).
- Establish relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure any operational issues can be resolved efficiently and with mínimal impact to audiences or the Library.
- Build a positive, inclusive and approachable team culture, encouraging a collaborative culture of open discussion between the different Audience Engagement, Commercial and Philanthropic teams.
- Embed a process of continuous improvement by delivering survey and review processes, securing audience data and operational insights, to iterate and improve the delivery of creative initiatives.

**About You**

You will come to us as an experienced manager and leader with production delivery expertise who is passionate about contributing to the presentation of distinctive quality experiences at the State Library Victoria. You will possess technical/specialist expertise, be motivated and organised with deep understanding of the requirements of the delivery of events, programs and exhibitions and thrive in fast-paced events environments.

In addition, you will bring the following:

- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in the creation and strategic development of exhibitions programs.
- Tertiary qualifications in project management, curatorial, arts, design or a relevant discipline required, or appropriate professional experience.
- State Library Victoria is a child-safe organisation. A valid Working with Children Check will be required before commencing.
