SLSA encompasses coastal safety, elite sports teams, public relations, partnerships & national fundraising. We rely heavily on the support of the community to continue to provide this vital service that help keep our beaches safe and protect our Australian way of life.

**Responsibilities**:
Coastal Safety Briefs
Prepare Coastal Safety Briefs for key locations
Prepare Coastal Safety Briefs to address key safety agenda items, e.g. Rip Currents, Boating, Rock Fishing and watercraft
Liaise with key external agencies to obtain necessary data and information to ensure Coastal Safety Briefs are relevant
Public Safety Intervention Programs
Work with the Coastal Safety team to develop frameworks to create behavioural change
Develop and deliver evidence-based nationally significant public safety initiatives such as public safety campaigns, resources, and videos etc
Use program logic models and analysis to inform public safety programs
Monitor and evaluate public safety projects/programs
Liaise with community, recreational and industry groups that may assist in influencing behavioural change and public safety interventions
Public Safety Campaigns
Provide leadership on the development of public awareness campaigns around participation, public attitudes, behaviour and understanding
Investigate and develop briefs, resources and initiatives that address high priority public safety issues to support public safety campaigns
Project Coordination
Develop and manage project plans, strategies, schedules, and status reports to the GMCS, relevant managers and stakeholders as required
Monitor and evaluate project schedules, budgets, and effectiveness with the GMCS and other staff to ensure deliverables are tracked and achieved
Prepare, organise and facilitate working group meetings and relevant meetings/workshops
Undertake relevant research and data analysis to inform policies and projects and to demonstrate changes in practice resulting from the policy or project being completed
Ensure final project reports and subsequent recommendations are completed
Manage relevant administration tasks related to projects and as directed by the GMCS in a timely manner
Stakeholder Communication and Relationships
Establish and maintain a communication schedule to update internal and external stakeholders on the progress of projects
Ensure relevant stakeholders are consulted with and have opportunities to contribute to the development of projects and policies
Promote awareness of project successes, through various internal and external communications channels
Act as the primary liaison point for stakeholders and others interested in relevant projects
Other
Support the GMCS with administering and managing the Beach Blackspot Drowning Reduction Programs and other Government Funded programs
Represent SLSA on external committees as determined
Provide leadership and support to other programs i.e. Disaster Resilience
**Skills and Experiences**:
**Knowledge and experience**:
- Proven track record coordinating and implementing significant projects in a multiple stakeholder environment.
- Have had experience with turning data into meaningful outputs for general use ie reports, graphical displays etc.
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Knowledge and understanding of Surf Life Saving philosophies, principles, activities, programs, procedures, services and issues that affect Surf Life Saving on a national level
- Ideally will be proficient in Adobe products ie InDesign, Illustrator (Not essential but will be required to learn)
