We are currently looking for an experienced **Facilities Plant & Equipment Specialist** to join our team on a **12-month maximum-term contract **based at our advanced manufacturing facility in **Port Melbourne**.
The role may be extended dependent upon business conditions and individual performance.
The role provides engineering support and conducts activities related to short
- and long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects and maintenance operations.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Support the development of conceptual engineering proposals and AutoCAD drawings for new plant and equipment proposals and provide conceptual drawing designs as requires.
- Support the essential services measures and associated audit programs to ensure compliance.
- Identify and report out on compliance gaps and development of rectification planning programs.
- Management of the AutoCAD and compliance document file process systems to ensure correct storage of associated compliance documentation.
- Investigate engineering proposals for plant and equipment and ensure an emphasis on LLCC, manufacturing conformity, maintainability, reliability and applicable configuration management polices.
- Develop moderately complex conceptual designs, final designs, cost estimates and provides maintenance support for plant and equipment installations, utility systems and grounds.
- Facilitate the implementation of moderately complex improvements in asset effectiveness, availability, and maintainability; to specify configuration of new assets in order to support reliability programs through the asset life cycle programs and associated data base.
- Identify errors and documents construction changes to comply with regulatory requirements, facility standards, and record retention requirements.
- Manage and support plant and equipment projects by providing input on vendor selection; reviews contractor proposals; interfaces with government/regulatory agencies; monitors project progress and vendor/consultant performance.
- Interpret and analyze applicable regulations, standards, codes, and ordinances with respect to project requirements.
**Basic Qualification’s (Required Skills / Experience)**:
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification is preferred although not essential
- Experience in maintenance and facilities within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes regulations, safety procedures and able to determine any non-conformance issues.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and drawing development.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret highly complex detailed drawings and diagrams of plant and equipment.
- Extensive knowledge in all aspects of repair and maintenance of plant and facilities utilities systems including electrical, gas, fire, town water, storm water and compressed air systems.
- Experience in implementing and development of condition and reliability-based maintenance programs with knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Experience in project management and reporting as well as maintenance and Facilities budget and resource management.
- Experience in data analysis, planning and forecasting using an asset management system (Maximo & Cognos preferable).
- Strong computer-based skills in Microsoft Office products.
