**Your new company**
The client is a State Government department who connects industries, the community and government with the goal of safeguarding the environment and ensuring Queensland is a world leader in providing high-quality, safe and sustainable food and natural produce. The role will be based in Brisbane CBD and on offer is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

**Your new role**
You will be responsible for leading the Business Services team through change by providing support and advice for projects and initiatives to ensure adoption. You will also be expected to lead and motivate an organisational culture that values and fosters collaboration, innovation and positive performance of staff and clients.

Other duties will include:

- Identifying business development opportunities.
- Provide analysis and advice on complex issues and contribute to service improvements through efficient and effective management of resources, policies, processes, and systems that are consistent with best practice and legislative requirements.
- Create and participate in the delivery of training and managing the transition to new ways of working.
- Manage and coordinate the day-today resourcing of the Business Support Team and ensure the effective delivery of service to internal and external customers in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of business services.
- Identify broader trends that may impact output, work quality, timeliness, and the intent to deliver services.
- Human resource and performance management activities including workforce and succession planning, coaching, mentoring and staff supervision.
- Provide input into the preparation of briefings, responses submissions and replies for the Business Manager where required.

You must have a good understanding of project management methodologies and possess excellent communication skills along with the ability to identify growth and business improvement opportunities. You will be a strong team player and effective contributor with demonstrated interpersonal and presentation skills.
