Troocoo are working with a large State Government Department of the recruitment of an AO6 Senior Communications Officer for an initial 6-month contract role to work as part of the Strategic Communication and Engagement branch. This role will see you deliver internal and external communication plans, media, marketing, online and creative services across the Department. As the AO6 Senior Communications Officer you will also develop and deploy high level campaigns to promote energy, construction and procurement projects and initiatives to businesses and communities across Queensland.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to;
- Actively participate as a senior member of a team of communication professionals to develop and deliver innovative communication strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior management, other Queensland Government agencies and key stakeholders.
- Provide advice on communication strategy and delivery.
- Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies on topics and issues that are strategic priorities for the Department.
- Negotiate with colleagues to assist in the assessment and triaging of both planned and unplanned communications projects.
- Build and maintain a strong knowledge of the department, including objectives, projects, opportunities, and challenges.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement by actively innovating and improving strategies, processes, and systems.
To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated experience in delivering significant or complex communication, media or engagement projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities. While not mandatory, tertiary qualifications in communication, marketing or journalism are highly desirable as well as prior experience working in Communications within a Government framework. It is essential you have very strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and manage the delivery of competing priorities.
