**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Head of Network Control and Operations you will be a member of Network Control Centre (NCC) leadership team, accountable for the efficient and safe provision of the operational planning function and staff on the United Energy distribution network.
Using your strong leadership experience and technical knowledge of sub transmission, distribution of HV and LV electrical network, you will lead the Network Access Planning Team to ensure the team is providing the timely delivery of switching instructions and availability of network operating resources. Your strong communication and stakeholder management skills will help you coordinate critical network outages to minimise customer impact and improve customer engagement.
This includes developing and maintaining technical operating standards, operational planning schedules, the timely delivery of all switching instructions, and ensuring that key metrics are delivered and reported accurately.

**What you’ll deliver**:
- Lead the activities of the Network Access Planning team and ensure that all personnel perform activities in a professional and timely manner
- Ensure Network Operations requirements in the works program is delivered including:
- Effective communications with personnel from internal and external organisations
- Ensure that all work requested by customers and stakeholders is completed within specified timeframes.
- Assisting to prepare programs for commissioning of major system elements.
- Assisting review of system design proposals.
- Ensure systems (GIS/DMS/SAP) are updated with proposed delivery state prior to work execution.
- Maintain operational planning schedules, timely planning and efficient allocation of field operating resources using UE systems (i.e. NARs), to ensure the preparation of switching instructions within specified time frames
- Develop and drive the performance of the team through technical systems and operational processes, supporting the overall success of United Energy’s high-performance culture
**To succeed in this role, you’ll have**:
- Associate Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Electrical Engineering / or equivalent
- Very good working knowledge of the operation of Sub transmission, Distribution HV & LV Networks
- Knowledge and understanding of construction, maintenance and testing activities associated with an electrical network including protection and control schemes
- Working understanding of VESI & Company Operating procedures, practices and outage planning
- Experience in leading teams and providing technical direction
- Demonstrated ability to create high quality reports / presentations using data.
- Proven interpersonal skills to successfully work in and lead a close team environment and to build good working relationships with both internal and external organisations
