**Position overview**
We’re looking for a hands-on **Assistant Supervisor - Recycling Production (** to support daily activities at our Carole Park recycling facility. In this 2IC role, you’ll assist the Facility Supervisor with coordinating shifts, guiding team members, and overseeing the sorting, dismantling, and recycling lines. You’ll also be involved in general labour tasks, forklift operations, and other duties as needed. This role provides a great opportunity for **career progression into a future Supervisor role**. **Key Duties**:
- Support the Facility Supervisor in planning workloads, organising shifts, and assigning tasks across the E-Waste Warehouse sorting, dismantling, and recycling line teams.
- Assist with daily checklists for the production team, including inwards/outwards goods, warehouse, and vehicle checklists, along with general admin duties.
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and weigh materials as needed; record weights and carry out tasks as instructed by supervisors.
- Guide the team, monitor productivity, and maintain accurate production records.
- Inspect sorting cages and component purity to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and production manuals.
- Monitor and assist in training new staff.
- Communicate professionally with team members and provide on-the-job support.
- Conduct regular safety and hazard checks to promote a safe work environment.
**Requirements**:
- Diploma or higher in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Full Australian work rights
- Valid forklift licence, and valid full driver’s licence.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including maintenance and machinery troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in team leadership, task coordination, and warehouse operations (especially in e-waste).
- Skilled in operating forklifts, hand tools, and other warehouse equipment.
- Sound understanding of safety practices, particularly with hazardous materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to track production, maintain records, and train/evaluate team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong team focus.
Pay: Up to $65,000.00 per year
