Asset Protection Officer

As an Asset Protection Officer, you will be responsible for Providing technical advice to the public and internal business units on matters associated with Council’s infrastructure and assets and carry out site inspections where necessary and liaise with the general public and Council officers.

This will be a 3-month temporary contract assignment with an immediate start.

**Duties will include but not limited to**:

- Assist in undertaking minor surveys of assets
- Carry out site inspections where necessary and liaise with the general public and Council officers.
- Maintain relevant data bases relating to permits, legal points of discharge, vehicle crossings and drawing register.
- Respond to customer requests and provide timely, accurate and courteous responses in relation to day to day building related issues
- Provide specialist technical advice to internal business units and Council regarding building related issues.

**Requirements include**:

- Demonstrated expertise and experience in construction or engineering related fields. Experience in Local Government and/or related to site management would be well regarded.
- Knowledge and experience of the building industry, the current techniques and materials, methods and procedures to enable on site problem solving, decision making and advice.
- Ability to interpret relevant legislation, policy and technical information.
- A solid understanding of local government policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Experience working within Victorian Local Government in a relevant field.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Skills in managing time, setting priorities and planning and organising own work.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities and able to complete tasks within tight timeframes.
- A current Victorian drivers license.
