**About the role**

Reporting into the General Manager - Commercial, the Head of Commercial is responsible for delivering on our strategic ambitions. This role will work closely with the GM to continue Sportsbet’s envious commercial position focusing on both existing and new commercial agreements, acquisition opportunities and new business ventures.

The Head of Commercial is a key member of the Strategy, Commercial and Partnerships team and has responsibility for implementing Sportsbet high-level strategic direction, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve Company’s current and future wagering business performance and driving end-to-end planning and performance visibility.

Key responsibilities include:

- Responsible for leading and supporting Sportsbet’s Commercial team across diverse key business strategy initiatives.
- As such, the role will own the end-to-end assessment, forecasting activities, and both preparation and presenting of supporting business case materials to senior leadership stakeholders.
- Under the direction of the GM, identify wagering growth opportunities (core business) and non-core adjacent opportunities; creating proposals, go-to-market strategies, appropriate internal and external approvals and ultimately delivering the opportunities to market.
- Lead the analytical assessment of new opportunities, existing opportunities, and the review of existing business performance for potential evolution / advancement.
- Joint accountability for, and key participant in, commercial deal negotiations on major initiatives.
- Focusing the business on performance improvement.

**About You**

We’re looking for someone with experience leading a team with a customer first attitude and constant strive to improve customers’ experience as well as:

- Ability to Identify business development opportunities through appropriate exploration and modelling (including the building of valuation models and the identification of synergies)
- Ability to Lead, develop and implement corporate development opportunities, including end to end M&A processes and deal thesis / business case development and Board / Executive approval process
- Knowledge on how to Identify and implement strategies to maximize the value extracted by Sportsbet from its strategic partnerships, including by way of further opportunities to work with those strategic partners
- Ability to Identify and implement efficiency and cost reduction opportunities, whilst maximising the return from commercial agreements
- Ability to effectively deal with, and obtain the trust of, senior stakeholders both internal (GMs and Executives) and external (Key Strategic Partners.
- Strong finance and analytical background (including advanced Excel skills), with the ability to build complex financial and valuation models.
- Experience in managing teams from varying skill sets
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate high-level strategy into tangible operational plans
- Previous experience in a senior commercial role, with strategic and operational responsibility
