**The opportunity**:
Join the Immune Development Research Laboratory at MCRI as a Research Assistant We are seeking a motivated individual to work on generating lung cells from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs). In this role, you will conduct experiments to understand and manipulate the development of lung epithelial, immune, and stromal cells derived from PSCs. These differentiated lung cells will be used in various in vitro assays to study respiratory diseases, including infections and chronic lung conditions.
**Your responsibilities include**:
Undertake discovery research concerning the development of the human lung cells from pluripotent stem cells (PSCs)
Undertake flow cytometry, gene expression and functional analysis of differentiated cells created in vitro
Co-ordinate the provision of cells to collaborators
Present data and experimental results at laboratory meetings
Works to improve skill base in research productivity and methodology
Assists in high calibre, competitive research
**What we need from you**:
Relevant tertiary degree - Honours/Masters qualification in Science or related discipline
Appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation
Experience with cell culture (pluripotent stem cell culture preferred)
Understanding of RNAseq analysis
Familiarity with microscopy techniques, immunofluorescence labelling and confocal analysis
