Research Assistant

**Role Type**: Part time 6-month contract (11.4 hours per week)
**Salary**: $84,376 per annum (pro rata) plus superannuation
**The opportunity**:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support participant recruitment and coordination for a pioneering research study. In this role, you will assist the Chief Investigators (CIs) to ensure full compliance with ethics and governance requirements while maintaining accurate documentation. You will also contribute to REDCap database development and management, ensuring that data is collected and stored efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge research in a collaborative and supportive environment.
**Your responsibilities include**:
**Ethics and Governance Applications & Documentation**: Work closely with CIs at each site to ensure the study adheres to all ethics and governance guidelines. Lead all submissions and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the study, liaising across sites to ensure compliance.
**Participant Recruitment & Coordination**: Assist in the recruitment process by providing key information to participants and coordinating all study-related activities, including the return of Sonomats and questionnaires, monitoring survey and app responses, and scheduling interviews and telehealth interventions.
**Database Management**: Contribute to the development, ongoing management, and data collation within the REDCap database at your assigned site. Take the lead in database development to ensure efficient data collection and management.
**Ethical Research Conduct**: Conduct research with the highest level of integrity, in line with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research and MCRI policies. Assist in generating data for research and publications.
**Continuous Improvement**: Work towards improving your skill set in research productivity and methodology, contributing to high-caliber, competitive research.
**Adherence to Protocols**: Follow standard operating procedures, study protocols, and study guidelines while maintaining orderly records, lab books, and data storage. Ensure adherence to GCP / ICH fieldwork guidelines
**What we need from you**:
A Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent (a degree awarded by an overseas institution recognised by the national office of overseas skills is mandatory).
Expertise gained through experience, training, or professional accreditation in a paediatric sleep unit.
A demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Exceptional time management, organisational, and analytical problem-s.
