**About the Role**

The Lecturer: Human Dimensions of the Environment will be responsible for the development, delivery and coordination of courses within STEM’s undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs and for contributing to STEM’s research agenda. You will contribute independently and as part of a team to support STEM’s teaching and research outcomes in the Environmental Science discipline with a particular focus on people’s behaviour and interaction with the natural environment and will carry out activities to maintain and develop scholarly research and/or professional activities.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of engaging, relevant and modern curricula for identified programs and courses related to society and the environment, particularly as they relate to Climate and Society and/or Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects of Natural Resource Management
- Effectively undertake administrative duties related to teaching activities of identified courses and programs, including the development of course and program material, if required
- Undertake course coordination and/or provide leadership to other academic staff in the teaching team
- Deliver high-quality teaching that is informed by relevant research, scholarship and industry practice and uses the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery
- Provide quality and timely feedback, academic counselling, mentoring, and advice to students as required
- Contribute to research and scholarly activity, independently and/or as a member of a team, that results in publications in academic journals and the presentation of conference papers, where appropriate
- Contribute to research activity through success in national competitive grants and/or obtaining government and/or industry funding for research activity
- Enhance the research profile of UniSA STEM through collaborative research with other Academic Units, universities, organisations, and involvement in relevant professional activities

**Essential Criteria**
- A doctoral qualification in Environmental Science, Geography or Social Science, or an allied discipline.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, including design and preparation of teaching activities and resources, for both University-wide and discipline-specific teaching in the Human Dimensions of the Environment or Environmental Science, with the ability to contribute to courses in the areas of Sustainable Development, Community Engagement, Climate Change or Environmental Policy
- Demonstrated ability to undertake research in one or more of the following areas that contribute to UniSA’s research strengths and strategic directions, for example: conservation psychology, green space planning, public participation, geospatial information sciences, environmental policy and governance, socio-ecological systems, sustainable behaviour and citizen science
- Understanding of and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies, including digital techniques and/or field-based teaching experience
- An established record of research publications, student supervision and/or grant acquisition, relative to experience
