What type of person are we looking for to join our team?
- Experienced NDIS Support Coordinator
- Minimum 2-3 years of NDIS Support Coordination experience required
- You will be extremely organised
- Have a good ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
- You have exceptional communication skills
- You will show patience and understanding to the changing needs of the clients and their service providers
- You will be emotionally intelligent
- You are passionate and dedicated to delivering effective support for the people with a disability
- You will be people focused , work well as part of a team with great collaboration
- You value diversity and are always respectful
- You can 'think on your feet' and have a non-judgmental, calming nature
As a Senior NDIS Support Coordinator the successful person will be comfortable with using their networks and resources to identify, link with and coordinate support to link with local communities and to assist participants to achieve their NDIS goals. You will need a strong understanding of the NDIS plans and the knowledge to navigate complex government funding schemes. The successful person will receive ongoing professional development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support NDIS participants to build capacity to coordinate their NDIS plans
- Assist participants interpret and implement their NDIS plan
- Negotiate appropriate support and services, review service agreements and connect participants with community and mainstream services
- Monitor service agreements, schedules of support and other plan commitments to remain informed of financial commitments and the potential effects
- Liaise with and report as required to the National Disability Insurance Agency in relation to participants and their plans
- Provide expert advice and consultation to NDIS participants and their supports on the changing NDIS environment
Skills and Experience
Essential you must have or the ability to rapidly acquire:
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Current Working With Children clearance
- Current drivers licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Australian work rights required
Highly desirable
- Allied health or other relevant qualifications
