**About the Role**
As a Data Centre Operations Assistant, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assistance to our clients regarding facility operational matters, remote hands, remote support and facility related support. You’ll be monitoring facility infrastructure, access control and security in Sydney and providing remote assistance to other Vocus Data Centres nationally.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing of customer request tickets and responding to facilities issues as they arise.
- Answering incoming office calls, administration and assisting with site order/cleanliness activities and tidiness of the comms room/infrastructure.
- Facilitating tours of the facility for potential and existing customers.
- Liaising with Telco’s and vendors to deliver cable and infrastructure deployments.
- Performing cross connect installs and connections; ensuring regular maintenance activities with contractors are completed.
- Operational checks and inspection of plant/equipment and perform regular onsite WHS audits and assessments.
- Implementing and maintaining DC documentation and records, and assisting in the creation of regular reporting and site documentation.
- Support in organising maintenance agreements/proposals and perform meetings with customer and vendor audits as required.
- Assisting Vocus staff/teams, receiving and managing deliveries/logistics activities; raising Purchase orders and processing as required.
- This position will require 24/7 on-call and after-hours availability (rotating roster) for emergency response where required. Flexibility in operating out of any of the four DC facilities in Sydney will be required._
**About You**:
- Previous experience in a similar internal/external helpdesk, data communications or trouble shooting role
- Technical knowledge & understanding of data communications services is advantageous
- Keen interest in Technology and willingness to learn, grow and develop.
- Ability to work autonomously, whilst also a team player with the ability to take and execute instructions.
- Strong customer focused and proficient in Microsoft products.
- Available to work across a 24/7 on call roster
