A fantastic opportunity has presented itself at nbn, Australia’s largest infrastructure project, as the Payments and Risk Lead reporting to the Senior Manager, Business and Payments. This position plays a key role in the Business and Payments team within Enterprise Services.

A bit about your role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business and Payments, Payments and Risk Lead role is a critical part of our Purchase to Pay stream. Responsible for nbn outgoing payments, including monitoring of payment transactions, dashboard reporting, business escalations, and system incident management. The role has responsibility for management of controls and risks within the Supplier Payment process ensuring they are in line with nbn’s commitment to data security, as well as meeting all regulatory requirements: such as the Payment Time Reporting Scheme. The role requires strong relationship management and influencing skills including coaching and mentoring an offshore BPO team, ensuring quality control, governance, and Service Levels are in line with expectations.

Using their expert finance knowledge and outstanding communication the Payments and Risk Lead will successfully manage relationships with Treasury, Procurement, and the broader Finance community, navigating issues and challenges to continuously improve the payment processes. The Payments and Risk Lead will use their advanced analytical knowledge and technical skills, to develop and deliver insightful and actionable reporting to stakeholders and senior management, including providing meaningful Trial Balance analysis and resolution to support nbn’s cashflow management strategy.

A bit about you

You will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in managing an outsourced partner, as well as the ability to work autonomously and effectively with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail, couple with your advanced excel abilities for analysing and manipulating data will see you succeed in this role.
