We are seeking an experienced **Collections Officer** who can balance maintaining collections standards with delivering exceptional customer service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with insurance brokers to manage the cancellation of funded policies
- Proactively address overdue payments through outbound calls and sending timely arrears notifications
- Handle inbound calls on the Collections Team queue
- Utilise your knowledge of collection processes to make informed decisions for optimal outcomes
- Maintain the debtors ledger in line with policy guidelines and meet monthly KPIs
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting clients with their queries
- Work closely with the sales team to facilitate the collection of amounts
- Understand Consumer Credit Laws
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as required, including cross-functional collaboration
**What We’re Looking For**
- Keen attention to detail in both written and numeric tasks
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word and quick to learn new systems
- Commercially astute problem-solving abilities
- Excellent customer service skills—polite, assertive, respectful, and empathetic
- In-depth knowledge of company products and credit processes
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- A collaborative team player who supports and assists colleagues
- Preferred experience in the insurance/financial industry
- Understanding of Consumer Credit Law
- At least 2 years of experience in collections or debt recoveries
