**About the role**:

- The Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is responsible for leading the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team dedicated to meeting our strategic objective of ensuring the Department of Health is an inclusive and safe organisation for our employees.
- The role provides high level strategic advice to the Director, Workplace Relations, Experience and Inclusion, staff, senior leadership and the departmental board to ensure the department delivers on its strategic and organisational priorities to become an inclusive organisation that embodies the values of the organisation and the Victorian Public Service.
- The role will also support collaborative approaches to understanding and addressing need across the organisation through input and specialist advice on planning, policies and procedures across the department.

**How you'll make a difference**:

- Build and lead organisational capacity and capability to implement activities which promote a commitment to inclusion for staff, clients and the community, by leading the delivery of the departments Diversity and Inclusion action plans and strategies.
- Provide high level strategic advice to executive management and board stakeholders in relation to a range of initiatives and strategies to enable the department to meet its strategic vision of becoming an inclusive organisation and ensuring that the value of inclusion is understood and embedded across the organisation.
- Lead the delivery, reporting and evaluation of the department's inclusion strategies, utilising workforce data to ensure these initiatives have a positive impact on staff experience and client service delivery.
- Lead and develop a small team to identify external trends and implement best practice initiatives to increase diversity among the workforce including undertaking policy review and implementation, staff consultation and training.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, including external stakeholders and practice partners, within and across the public sector to understand differing needs and expectations of employees and to work collaboratively to support improved departmental responses to Diversity and Inclusion.
- Support the growth and self-determination of staff and departmental led reference groups and lived experience staff networks to meet the obligations and overarching principles set out in the department's inclusion strategies and strategic objectives.

**Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate**:

- Demonstrated lived experience and understanding of the cultural norms and issues affecting people with cultural diversity, disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage, and LGBTIQ+ identification, and the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals and groups
