The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Diversity and Inclusion Adviser to provide a critical role in our People Services team.
About the business unit
People, Safety and Culture (PSC) provides a range of services to support our people and workplaces. It is responsible for driving the department's transformation agenda, human resources, payroll, recruitment, occupational health and safety, industrial relations, learning and development and employment regulations.
It also promotes a positive organisational culture, develops staff capability, and supports inclusion and diversity across the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS).

About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Recruitment Operations, Talent Programs and Inclusion, the Diversity and Inclusion Adviser will support the development and implementation of a departmental diversity and inclusion action plan. The adviser will provide expert assistance and guidance to working groups to communicate and deliver on the plan.
As a priority, the role will lead the implementation and monitoring of the department's Disability Action Plan. The strategy aims to increase the representation of people with disability at DJCS through recruitment, development and retention strategies.

**Some of your duties will include**:

- Leading the implementation and monitoring of the department's inclusion programs and diversity plans with a focus on supporting the implementation of the Workplace Adjustments Policy
- Leading on advice and guidance regarding inclusive practices and workplace adjustments across the employee lifecycle
- Contributing to staff capability and organisational culture that fosters diversity, inclusion and equity across the department's workforces.

About you

**To be successful in this role, you will have**:

- Experience in developing and implementing Diversity and Inclusion strategies, programs and initiatives in complex environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resource and inclusion practice.
- Strong ability to build, influence and maintain partnering relationships across varied levels to ensure program deliverables are achieved
- Strong ability to provide high-quality advice and recommendations to Executive and managers on diversity and inclusion matters

Qualification/Requirements
- Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification in the area of HR, social sciences, organisational development and/or human rights would be highly regarded.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

- COVID-19 digital certificate or ATAGI exemption certificate (available via your myGov account)
- Your immunisation history statement (available via your myGov account)

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
