The Energy Data and Analytics branch, part of the Strategy & Implementation Division, is actively recruiting an Energy Analyst in the Data Governance and Appraisal Team and an Energy Market Analyst in the Modelling and Analytics Team.
These analyst roles are responsible for developing data analytics, quality assurance and reporting solutions to support and inform evidence-based policy and associated procedure development.
The Energy Analyst role within the Data Governance and Appraisal Team will working on NSW Government policies, strategies and programs.
The Energy Market Analyst within the Modelling and Analytics Team will primarily focus on the ongoing development and associated modelling and analysis of electricity and gas markets in Australia.
**About You**
To be successful in these roles you will be possess;
**Essential Requirements**
- Qualifications or relevant experience in electrical or renewable energy engineering, finance, economics, statistics, or another relevant discipline.
**Desired Requirements**
- an understanding of local or international energy markets
- experience with data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL and or PLEXOS
- experience with data management and visualisation software (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPivot, PowerBI, ArcGIS)
