**About the role**:
We are looking for an experienced Settlements Analyst to join our Finance Services team on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Team Leader, Settlements, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other business areas within Alinta and third parties (counterparties and brokers).
The purpose of the Settlements Analyst role is to support the accurate & timely delivery of Electricity, Gas, Environmental, Treasury, Futures and OTC trades in Alinta’s trading systems, that the transactions are reconciled and recorded in Alinta’s general ledger and settled.

In achieving this purpose, the analyst provides data into Alinta’s general ledger for further reporting, and to the trading & treasury teams.

**Duties**:

- Invoicing & Settlement of trades, prepare receivable invoices and validate payable invoices and prepare postings
- Month-end Accruals and Journals, preparation of the EOM Accruals for open trades
- Trade Data & Contract Review, interpret new contracts with a focus on understanding settlement deliverables
- Validate trade details between counterparties, brokers & Alinta’s trading system

**Skills and experience**:

- Degree in Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science or other relevant numeric discipline
- Experience in electricity, gas, financial or derivative markets
- Strong attention to detail and sound communication skills
- Strong numeric skills and MS Excel experience (essential), hands-on experience in SQL or Python or other analytics tools (desirable)
- Ability to work in a team environment and effectively prioritise workload
