**The opportunity**

We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Planning Manager to join us in the Strategic Transport Planning Branch based at Milson Point Office and offers fully flexible working arrangements.

TfNSW has offices in Dubbo, Glen Innes, Grafton, Newcastle, Parkes, Tuggerah, Wagga Wagga and Wollongong as a well as project offices across NSW to support regionally based employees.

Reporting to the Director Regional Network, you will work across multi-disciplinary, matrixed teams, and responsible for providing strategic transport planning leadership and expertise to support the delivery of a range of Transport Planning projects, to support the NSW government’s vision and priorities and ensure alignment with Future Transport 2056 and 10 Year Blueprint outcomes.

This role is within the Regional Networks team focused on outer metropolitan cities Central Coast, Newcastle, Illawarra and Regional NSW and takes the lead on more complex projects and provides mentorship for other team members.

**What you will be involved in**:

- Provide strategic advice, research and complex analysis, recommendations, management of the preparation, review and finalisation of long-term place based transport strategies.
- Define the vision and objectives of transport plans, studies, and strategic business cases within outer and regional NSW, integrated networks or major projects.
- Contribute to rigorous project planning and reporting to ensure accurate progress updates, risks and issues are communicated with all relevant stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams within the branch and across TfNSW to ensure the best possible planning outcomes.
- Ensure that transport planning is informed by robust analysis and transport Cluster consultation to deliver Future Transport.
- Develop key relationships across the transport cluster, NSW government agencies and external relationships, and manage stakeholder communications.

**About you**
- You will hold tertiary qualification in either in engineering, planning, geography, humanities or data analytics or equivalent qualification and possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to solve complex problems.
- You are a self-motivated Manager Transport Planning, looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your project management experience.
- Knowledge of transport planning practices, including best practice developments locally and abroad.
- Solid understanding of Transport Modelling, Network Planning and Urban Planning
- Good Knowledge of Project management processes
- You will have high level leadership and management skills, be proactive with issues resolution and have the capability to build and maintain effective and collaborative stakeholder relationships.

The salary for this position is **TfNSW Grade 9 ($142,178 - $** **159,238) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.**
