**The Division**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) Division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

In December 2018, the NSW Government announced the development of a Fast Rail Strategy for NSW. Fast rail will help shape the future growth of our cities and regions; bring people, jobs, and services closer together; and provide a catalyst for greater investment in the regions. The Fast Rail Team, based in ROM, is centred on delivering faster, more efficient and reliable journey times along strategic corridors that link our major capital cities and growing regional centres.

**The Opportunity**

Our Fast Rail Team currently has a brand-new opportunity for a Manager, Customer and Product to join them on a Fixed Term basis to June 2026. Being a new role, this is a rare opportunity to mould and shape this position to highlight your strengths and deliver the best outcomes for the Fast Rail Program.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the implementation of customer and product outcomes on the Fast Rail Program. The role will inform the development of the program and emerging projects by defining project scope and requirements. The role ensures customer and product outcomes are enhanced by championing customer experience, urban, land use and transport planning, regional development and operational requirements in design development and project delivery.

The role will also support the provision of evidence and data that underpins decisions and prioritisation in collaboration with the Fast Rail Program team and key stakeholders.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Develop and coordinate advice to strengthen customer and product outcomes during project development across customer strategy, transport integration, design, land use planning, regional development and operations planning,
- Manage and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders that have influence on the outcome of the program and project definition activities
- Coordinate the evaluation of transport and customer impacts resulting from project options to drive the best outcomes for the people of NSW
- Develop and coordinate client, business and system requirements for inclusion in key activities such as final business cases to ensure delivery to agreed outcomes
- Prepare consultant project briefs and associated documentation and manage engagement of specialist contractors
- Develop and coordinate the key deliverables such as project definition reports and associated documentation as inputs into final business cases.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in the planning, strategy and development of transformative infrastructure, urban renewal or major transport projects. Project management experience, as well as exposure to developing final businesses cases is essential.

You will have a polished written and verbal communication style with a flair for partnering with, and influencing a broad spectrum of stakeholders.

Qualifications in Urban, Land Use, Transport or Strategic Planning, and Project Management would be highly regarded.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 ($138,670 - $155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. An attractive salary band will be negotiated based on your relevant skills and experience.
