SGS is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to fill a full-time position based in Notting Hill, Melbourne. The role is responsible for the analytical testing and reporting for soil, water, air and other sample matrices conducted in the Inorganic, Organic and Radio Chemistry Sections of Environmental Laboratory.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

- Undertake sample preparation, analytical and radio chemistry analysis and reporting by conventional analytical methods and modern instrumental methods including GC, GC/MSMS, HPLC, LC/MSMS, ICP/MS, FIA.
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations.
- Understand and comply to general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements.
- Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean and tidy avoiding contamination, clutter and to protect the company’s assets.
- Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Team Leader

**Qualifications**
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, preferably in Chemistry
- Experience in a general laboratory environment preferred
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks.
