**Job Description**:
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has opened up for a **Laboratory Technician **to be responsible for the analytical testing and reporting for soil, water, air and other sample matrices; conducted in the Inorganic, Organic and Radio Chemistry Sections of Environmental Laboratory of SGS Notting Hill Site. Conventional analytical methods and modern instrumental methods including GC, GC/MSMS, HPLC, LC/MSMS, ICP/MS, FIA as used in this role.

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations
- Understand and comply to general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements
- Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean and tidy avoiding contamination, clutter and to protect the company’s assets
- Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement
- Ensure that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly and used at all times
- Report immediately any unsafe work condition or equipment to the supervisor
- Perform other duties as directed by the Team Leader.

**Qualifications**:

- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, preferably in **Chemistry**:

- Experience in a general laboratory environment preferred
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks
