
Group Program Co-ordinator

**_Working in collaboration with the Assistant Director, Clinical Outreach and Groups and the clinical team to coordinate the provision of psychoeducational workshops and treatment groups by external providers to the clients and stakeholders of Open Arms and be responsible for the following activities: _**
**Stakeholder Engagement & Marketing**
- Engagement with in-centre counsellors and Outreach Program counsellors to support promotion and delivery of group programs.
- Engage community stakeholders, ex-service organisations, and RCF contacts in collaboration with the community engagement team.
- Liaise with the GP engagement/Practice Support teams of Primary Health Networks.
- Engagement with military bases to promote group programs. This includes Health Centres, Medical Officers, Mental Health and Rehabilitation Providers, DCO, DTSS, Chain of Command, and OBAS.
- Deliver presentations on group programs and Open Arms services to external stakeholders.
- Attend National Peer Group Coordination Meetings.
**Group Program Planning & Coordination for the Region**
- Coordinate with the community engagement team as a point of contact for psycho educational workshops and treatment groups related to transition seminar attendance, ADF promotional activities and ex-service organisations in the region.
- Develop an annual schedule with assistance from the Group Program Support Officer (GPSO).
**Recruitment and Onboarding of Facilitators & Trainers**
- Source appropriately qualified and experienced Group Program Facilitators and provide onboarding.
- Undertake regular skills and competencies audits of group program workforce and adherence to group facilitator protocols.
**Group Intake, Screening and Reporting**
- Review intake assessments including assessment of suitability.
- Review participant evaluation forms and address any concerns.
**Educational Workshop Clinical Activities**
- Manage concerns regarding participant suitability, wellbeing and special requirements.
- Risk management of group program participants, as per Open Arms policies. This includes regular communication with facilitators in relation to attendance and risk of participants.
- Follow up non-attendance.
**Clinical Group Coordination**
- Manage the group / workshop intake queue and assignment of clients to groups or workshops.
- Ensure clients at risk waiting for treatment programs have required support and coordinate with clinician and Assistant Director where required.
- Brief and debrief Facilitators/Trainers as required.
- Encourage uptake of online learning components of group treatment programs and reduce barriers.
- Ensure that client risk processes are integrated within the group program and risk is reported back to Assistant Director Client Coordination and relevant clinicians involved.
- Review / approve group program reports (individual and program).
- Support integration with 1:1 counselling by engaging with OPCs, centre based clinicians, Assistant Directors and clients in group programs. Work with these stakeholders to support treatment coordination and group treatment integration as core business.
**Financial Tasks**
- Financial Management - Group FY Budget and Projections annually
- Track costs to support budget expenditure and monitor group participation utilising tracking sheets provided.
- Oversee regional group procurement activities and ensure compliance with DVA requirements.
**MANDATORY** SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:
- **Tertiary qualifications in teaching, training and facilitation, ideally within a mental health/community sector, OR**
- **Qualifications as a registered Psychologist / Mental Health Occupational Therapist / Mental Health Registered Nurse with full AHPRA registration,**
**OR**
**AND**
- Working with Children (WWC) and/or Vulnerable People Checks/Clearance
- Knowledge of mental health programs
- Strong organisational skills
- Experience developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships
- Current drivers licence
**DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:
- Relevant management experience
- An understanding of the challenges faced by those who have served in the Australian Defence Force
