**The Role**
As the APS 6 - Reporting Analyst you will:
- Support work area priorities, manage workflows and allocated resources relating to reporting functions.
- Develop, design and disseminate a range of reporting artefacts, including, but not limited to, program status reporting, risk reporting, program benefits reporting, user guides, process maps, and ad hoc reporting requests.
- Conduct analytical activities, including data analysis, program benefit analysis, business analysis, and capability analysis.
- Identify and present evidence-based solutions and opportunities to senior executives, working groups, committees, program/projects, through briefs, reports, discussions, presentations, and other government submissions as required.
- Build and cultivate constructive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Share own expertise with others, guide and mentor less experienced employees, while adopting a willingness to learn.
- Conduct quality assurance activities, evaluate reporting and business outcomes and processes, understand and document business requirements and user needs, and conduct governance activities, to achieve expected outcomes and continuous improvement.
Initially offered as non-ongoing employment of 12 months with the possibility of an extension or ongoing employment.
**About our Team**
Defence Business Integration Program (DBIP) was established to ensure the cumulative impacts of programs and projects deliver long term, enterprise-wide transformation, so that Defence can focus on core priority activities, and respond to its current and future operating environment.
DBIP does this by:
- Supporting and enabling integration across the Defence programs and projects overseen by the Associate Secretary in their role as Enterprise Business Capability Manager.
- Enabling development of integrated business capabilities within Defence and driving efficient and effective business processes and transformation activities.
- Ensuring that individual projects, business programs, and the Fundamental Inputs to Capability that support them, are integrated, future-focused and aligned to Defence’s strategic priorities.
- The Directorate of Portfolio Governance ensures capability outcomes are prioritised and aligned to strategic direction, centralises business capability activities through the Capability Manager (Associate Secretary) and Design Authority, and is supported by an effective Project Management Office and governance structure.
- Experience building reporting artefacts and managing reporting activities.
- Analysis skills, including but not limited in data analysis, business analysis, capability analysis, benefit analysis.
- Technological skills in visualisation and analytics software, such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, ServiceNow.
- Written communication skills, demonstrated through writing briefs, reporting, committee agenda and papers, government submissions.
- Stakeholder engagement experiences to maintain constructive professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiate on requirements, priorities, and work allocation.
- Willingness to learn, innovate and share expertise with others.
