**About the role**:
The purpose of the retail analyst is to be accountable for supporting the financial performance management of the retail business by extracting and manipulating data to analyse performance levers and by sharing insights to improve understanding of results.

Based in our Perth office, this permanent full-time role will be joining a highly collaborative and high performing team which sits within our Retail Markets business unit. The ability to develop trusted relationships with business owners and partner closely with stakeholders throughout the business will be paramount to your success.

**Duties**:

- Utilise systems and implement data interrogation to provide insights and identify trends to improve financial and operational decision making
- Build and maintain complex financial models, profitability analysis and commercial business cases (with a clear focus on the assumptions) that support insights and recommendations
- Ensuring analytical information and reports meet the expectations of stakeholders with respect to presentation, timeliness, quality, and consistency

***Skills and experience**:

- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities combined with a strong attention to detail
- Understanding of accounting and finance principles
- Strong Excel skills, and exposure to SQL and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau)
- Excellent presentation skills that encompass clear and compelling communications to key stakeholders
- Experience in the technical and commercial aspects of electricity and gas would be looked upon favorably

Whilst we are flexible on the industry in which you have gained your experience; having a strong analytical mindset and the ability to execute a high level of critical thinking is essential. You must be comfortable and experienced in manipulating and analysing data and have a high level of attention to detail.
