Our business relies on robust technology systems and data platforms to support online sales, retail store operations, inventory management, customer loyalty programs, and business intelligence.

To support our growth, we are seeking an experienced **Database Administrator** to join our team of professionals immediately.

**The Role**
You will be the responsible for overseeing, managing, and optimising our databases and ensure the security, availability, and performance of business-critical data systems.

**Your daily responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Design, develop, and maintain databases to support retail, e-commerce, logistics, and financial operations.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning, indexing, and query optimisation for efficiency.
- Establish and maintain security controls, user roles, and permissions to safeguard sensitive business and customer information.
- Develop, test, and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Plan and implement database upgrades, patches, and migrations with mínimal disruption to operations.
- Generate and maintain database documentation, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and Australian regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing support to end-users and business units as needed.
- Contribute to data analysis and reporting, assisting management with insights from retail, customer, and financial data.

**Work Experience and Skills**
- Relevant qualification
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Proficiency with relational database systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Knowledge of data modelling, database design, and query optimisation.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery.
- Familiarity with integrating databases into retail/e-commerce systems.
