In the role of Principal Advisor (Finance), you will play a key role in the TMR Inland Rail team.
**The position will provide**:
- Leadership and direction in the delivery of financial management and planning, budgets, procurement
- Management of financial reporting requirements for the project.
**Accountabilities include**:
- Lead compliance of financial activities in accordance with departmental policy and guidelines, the Financial Administration and Audit Act, Treasury Department policy and guidelines, and other relevant legislation for the project.
- Manage the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasting and provide financial, strategic, statistical and operations support and advice for the Inland Rail team.
- Manage invoicing, reconciliations, refunds, and other activities related to property acquisitions for the project.
- Prepare monthly Financial Operating Reports and provide variance commentary including the resolution of financial issues for the Inland Rail team.
- Provide strategic advice and support to the Manager (Business) and Inland Rail leadership team on financial and procurement issues.
- Provide assistance/input into Cabinet Budget Review Committee (CBRC) submissions, Finance & Procurement Committee (FAPCOM) submissions, and business cases.
- Identify, recommend and implement strategic initiatives to improve financial outcomes.
- Cultivate strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in particular the ARTC Finance teams, to ensure TMR's position is considered and communicated appropriately, and issues are proactively identified and managed.
- Assist in building a cohesive and high performing team with a focus on a positive workplace culture, building and maintaining strong relationships, achieving high quality and timely results, and strong morale, including personal management and accountability.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.
This position reports to the Business Manager.
