**Agency Overview**
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) operates the state’s correctional centres, supervises offenders in the community and delivers programs to reduce reoffending, support reintegration and build safer communities. The Agency sits within the Communities and Justice Portfolio that is focused on achieving safe, just, inclusive and resilient communities by providing services that are effective and responsive to community needs.

**The role**
The role of Commissioner Corrective Services NSW reports directly to the Minister for Corrections and is accountable for the leadership and management of the Corrective Services NSW. The Commissioner is responsible for leading and managing the overall operation of the Agency including the delivery of a range of justice services and programs across the State to ensure the safe, secure and humane management of adults in custody and the effective supervision and management of offenders in the community. Key areas of focus include:

- Leading, driving and managing change across the Agency, including embedding a culture of safety and wellbeing and achieving an improved culture that is transparent and accountable.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of a reform program, embedding and addressing all recommendations of Inquiries and Reviews, that achieves change, is sustainable and future focused.
- Driving effective, evidence-based strategies to reduce recidivism, including actions that will help reduce the over representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the justice system.

**Required Experience, Skills and Personal Attribute**s
- Be an astute, executive leader with experience across diverse operations in a large scale, complex service delivery environment. Experience within corrective services and/or government will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrate the capability to foster a positive, constructive culture that encourages high performance supports the safety and wellbeing of the team, resulting in a more accountable and transparent organisation.
- Be experienced in developing strategies and plans whilst considering overarching organisational and cross-portfolio governance and policy needs and meet regulatory and legislative frameworks.

- National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012This is an ongoing, full time role. An attractive remuneration package with a salary range between $461,044 to $509,249 with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
