**About the role/ About the Opportunity**

For the first few months in this role, you will be attached to the Connect for Safety project, supporting the Principal Project Officer in their role. Connect for Safety is an innovative national online child protection information search tool designed to enhance the safety of Australian children and families.

You will therefore ideally have a skillset of project management and administration.

Following the completion of the project, you will move to a local office.

As a Casework Support Worker you will help Caseworkers in their day-to-day work and contribute to keeping children, young people, families and communities in varied and challenging circumstances safe by undertaking tasks which support case planning and documentation, referrals and appointments, case visits and day to day team priorities.

No two days will be the same. One day you will be helping caseworkers prepare documentation or will help with case planning for children and young people and the next day you’ll be sourcing and sharing information about families and making referrals or appointments.

These are temporary roles in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

A Recruitment Pool may be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if and as they arise.

**Essential Requirements**

The Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 requires persons engaged in children related work to have Working with Children clearances.
- Aboriginality is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as an Aboriginal role in accordance with the provisions of Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- A TAFE Diploma in a relevant field, welfare / community services and/or relevant work experience deemed to be the equivalent
- Current driver’s licence
- At least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine
