- **$288,534 to $324,688 total remuneration payable**

**Your role**

Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) is seeking an experienced executive to lead the Work and Education Branch. The role will provide expertise, leadership and direction for the manufacturing and service industries arms of CSNSW, ensuring inmate labour and staff are appropriately trained and qualified, and industry, education and trade connections are purposeful and support the provision of accredited vocational and educational training for inmates.

**What you’ll do**

The Assistant Commissioner, Work and Education role also leads initiatives that support inmate reintegration into the community and improve inmate’s ability to secure employment upon release. You will also:

- Lead teams while developing your workforce and inspiring direction and purpose
- Lead and direct the development of new corrections manufacturing and service industries
- Negotiate and manage large service providers and a large, dispersed workforce
- Identify business opportunities that provide work skills for inmates to enhance their employability upon release
- Administer the business planning, budgetary, financial, and change management strategies and processes for the effective functioning of the Work and Education portfolio
- Ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety legislation for all people at Work and Education sites
- Liaise, communicate, and participate extensively with community groups and private sector industries to minimise conflict in relation to competitive market shares and interests

**What we’re looking for**
- Experience as a senior executive, leading a strong people culture that aligns to vision, purpose, and goals of the organisation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with proven experience in building collaborative partnerships.
- Extensive experience in safety and risk management strategy and policy, particularly within a correctional and/or industrial environment

We house remand and sentenced inmates in correctional centres and supervise offenders serving orders in the community. We collaborate with government and non-government partners to support victims, facilitate restorative justice, and promote reintegration.
