**The Role**
This role will lead a small team to work directly with Defence business areas, to enable the organisation to digitalise, standardise and optimise its workforce, through effective Enterprise Business Process Management (EBPM).
EBPM is a Defence-wide evidence-based approach to business process improvement and knowledge management. This role will involve ongoing engagement with Defence Groups and Services that own and manage business processes.
Within this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop, shape, and oversee EBPM solutions, including the capture, improvement and transformation of business processes;
- Build and maintain productive stakeholder relationships across Groups and Services;
- Manage, lead and coach a team, including developing and implementing work or project plans, setting performance indicators, and reviewing individual, team and business performance;
- Exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert advice to Defence stakeholders.
**About our Team**
The Directorate Business Process Improvement is part of the Defence Business Integration Program, which facilitates the transformation of Defence’s enabling business capabilities to support agility and preparedness. The directorate is responsible for the development, sustainment, promotion, governance, and support of Defence's Enterprise Business Process Management (EBPM) capability.
It supports Groups and Services to adopt and use the EBPM capability to digitalise current state enterprise business processes; optimise, standardise, and integrate processes; and drive efficiency and effectiveness through analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.
- The ability to communicate with influence, building and managing relationships with stakeholders across all levels, including facilitating engagement;
- Experience with setting priorities and working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment;
- Ability to initiate, manage, coordinate, deliver, and/or assure projects;
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience in managing individual and team performance through clear expectation setting, coaching, and mentoring;
- A commitment to continuous improvement, incorporating lessons into future practices.
