SALC have the opportunity for experienced swimming instructors to join as the Aquatic Service Officer team.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all staff and visitors.
- To continuously assess the grading of class participants to ensure continuity of progression through the Hume Learn to swim program
- Responsible for communicating progress to families and to provide instructions to customers.
- Assist with scheduling of newly introduced classes.
- To be the first line of contact for customer queries, to assist and overcome any concerns.
- Provide support to Swim Instructors and help were deemed necessary.
- Listen and respond to all feedback and view it as an opportunity to improve.
- Seek to provide options to meet customer needs, guidance, and advice.
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement to all staff and visitors.
- Demonstrate pride and ownership in the presentation of the centre and the services offered.
- Engage in open communication and encourage and acknowledge achievement.
- Always lead by positive example.
- Provide support to fellow team members to enable a good balance between work and personal lives.
- Act as Area Warden in the case of emergency/evacuation.
- Providing support to swim staff along with completing administrative tasks.
- Commitment to and demonstration of the Hume Values and Guiding Behaviours
**The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role**:
- Ability to problem solve quickly and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team member
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to operate with mínimal supervision and show high levels on initiative.
- Ability to gain cooperation of and communicate both verbally and in written form with broad range of people form diverse backgrounds and cultures.
**Required Certifications & Qualifications**:
- Austswim qualification
- Level 2 First Aid certificate including current CPR qualification
- Extensive knowledge of all levels of the current Hume Learn to Swim program
- Swim teacher experience desirable
- Flexibility to be available throughout operating hours of the SALC Swim School Program including evenings and weekends_
