**About the Role**
- Part Time (0.8 FTE) Permanent Position
- Classification: Consumer Service Delivery Level 4 with a salary range of $93,959- $98,207 per annum pro rata + Superannuation
- Salary Packaging arrangements providing tax benefits available for living and entertainment expenses increasing your take home income where part of your wage is paid tax free each pay, savings thousands in tax each year
- Hours of operation: Monday to Saturday, as follows: Monday - Friday: 8.30am - 8pm. Saturday and Public Holidays: 11.30am - 8pm and on Sundays by appointment.

**About your new role**
The Peer Support Leads are exciting roles responsible for leading Peer Support Workers to deliver high quality services to consumers experiencing mental health challenges presenting to the Whittlesea Local. You will lead the Peer Support workers to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team inclusive of mental health clinicians, mental health registered nurses, medical officers, and consultant psychiatrists. Peer Support Leads and Workers will support a high engagement model of care, through actively greeting and supporting guests throughout their time at the Whittlesea Local.
Neami’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Local (Whittlesea Local) is an innovative solution to deliver on the compelling vision outlined through the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System (RCVMHS). Delivered in partnership with Uniting, Drummond Street Services (Drummond St) and Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS), the Whittlesea Local brings together four organisations that are leading providers with extensive experience and success in the delivery of community-based care.
Lived Experience Workers are integral members of the team and represent 50% of the workforce within the Whittlesea Local. Peer Support workers draw on their lived experience of recovery from mental illness, mental health crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness to instil confidence and hope in others about the journey of recovery. You must have a lived experience of your own mental illness/caring role, and a rich understanding of the processes of recovery. You must be willing to purposefully use your own story to help others further their own understanding of recovery.

**What you will bring to the role?**
- Lived experience of mental illness, mental health crisis or caring for someone living with a mental illness and demonstrated experience of recovery.
- Proven experience at managing teams within the area of community service delivery or providing supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and empower team members through coaching and mentoring to identify development goals and strategies for achieving them.
- Demonstrates an interest and understanding of others and ability to relate to people at all levels.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust to deal with sensitive and difficult situations in a diplomatic manner.
- Ability to establish respectful professional relationships that have clear boundaries with consumers, staff and partner organisations.
**What the role requires**:

- Current Working with Children Check required before commencement of work.
