NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Administration Trainee to support the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Do you have an interest in working for the government while earning a Certificate III in Business Administration?

This 12 month traineeship based in Preston and Fitzroy provides a range of administrative support to the Corporate and Delivery Services units.

The **General Business Services Officer Trainee **supports the Business Services unit in providing a range of high quality, essential, customer focused services across several offices. Functions include but not limited to managing office accommodation and maintenance, building security, fleet management, managing supplies and consumables, procurement and leading local environmental action planning.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide administrative support to office processes, corporate information systems and to local area staff delivering office-based services.
- Answer queries, provide timely advice and take follow up action or escalation as required.
- Operate as an effective branch member in a team environment providing effective customer service to managers and staff within the branch and to members of the public.
- Assist in the issue of identification and security access cards and provide assistance for lost, damaged or misplaced cards.
- Support the administration of day-to-day operations of a large fleet management service. This may include delivering and returning vehicles through an online vehicle booking system, accurately recording log sheets, providing information on fringe benefits tax and induct staff in appropriate vehicle use.
- Monitor asset compliance and support the team with regular stock takes of all assets in line with the department’s asset management guidelines and policies.
- Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and collisions, following processes for incident and ensure all relative documentation is completed.
- Monitor and track scheduled services, fuel exception, kilometres travelled, utilisation, traffic infringements and expired licences.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

**Key Selection Criteria**
- Experience with MS Office programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint would be desirable.
- A valid driving licence is required for this role.
