Business Group Leader

Through our connected global network of road professionals, we partner with our key clients to deliver major road and infrastructure projects for both public and private sector. GHD’s market-leading approach to delivering large-scale projects has secured a strong pipeline of work.

As a result we have a leadership opportunity for a **Business Group Leader **to continue driving relationships with key clients and the capabilities of our established **Sydney Roads Team **. This role is suitable for an industry-leading professional who cultivates client relationships, develops and leads teams, with the ability to deliver on major projects.

Working with our Operations Manager, multi-disciplinary leadership group and broader internal network, this pivotal position is your opportunity to lead a passionate, technically renowned team within a global consultancy and will see you:

- Establish and maintain effective relationships with government and private sector clients and across GHD.
- Lead and manage the Roads Business Group and manage performance, people, and resources.
- Develop and achieve our business plan objectives and targets aligned with GHD’s Make It Real strategy.
- Build a strong business development and winning work culture, with effective positioning and pursuit of large and strategic opportunities and expanding GHD's presence and market share.
- Lead the technical and commercial direction on significant projects, identifying and creating business opportunities and effectively managing risks.
- Develop and mentor a talented team of civil engineers, geometric designers, flooding and drainage engineers and project and design managers.
- Drive a safety culture throughout the business and across our projects.

**What would you bring to the team?**
- Engaging and motivating people skills backed by strategic problem-solving capabilities.
- A relevant degree qualification in Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- Commercially astute with strong project delivery experience, including providing support to Project Directors and Project Managers to deliver outstanding client experiences coupled with both technical and commercial performance on projects.
- Passionately innovative, with a drive to continuously evolve the way we work to deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
- High level market awareness and business development skills with a strong focus on client engagement and ideally a well-established network of relationships across potential clients.
- You are a hardworking, supportive and motivating leader able to get the best out of their team and comfortable with mentoring and technical supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong communication and people management skills.
