Melton City is Australia’s fastest growing local government area and is experiencing high demand for Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services.
Council recognises the benefits that MCH can provide to children and families, and the important role that the service plays to improve the early identification of children who need more support. We are incredibly proud of the service we offer and are working to increase our capacity to meet the needs of Melton City’s growing and diverse community.
That is why we are significantly increasing the support provided to our MCH team through the recent establishment of a dedicated MCH department and increased employment conditions and benefits. We are working to ensure the Melton City Council is a place where MCH nurses can grow their careers, we are recruiting more nurses and we continue to advocate for a stronger MCH system in Victoria.

We offer:
- 5 weeks Annual Leave
- Monthly ADO - Accrued Day off (for full time positions)
- Personal / Sick / Carers Leave
- Up to sixteen (16) days annually in the first year of service (pro rata for part time employees).
- Up to eighteen (18) days in each year in the second, third and fourth years of service (pro rata for part time employees).
- Up to twenty-five (25) days in the fifth and following years of service (pro rata for part time employees).
- Genuine Flexible work options including the ability to purchase up to 4 additional weeks leave.
- Paid Parental Leave - An employee who has, or will have, completed at least twelve (12) months paid continuous service and who will be a parent at the time of the birth or adoption (including any form of permanent legal guardianship or surrogacy arrangement) of their child, is entitled to up to 52 weeks parental leave, from the commencement of the period of leave, made up of:
- Primary Carer - Sixteen (16) weeks paid parental leave or 32 weeks at half pay.
- Secondary Carer - Three (3) weeks paid parental leave or six (6) weeks at half pay, with the ability to request any other appropriate leave.
- Pre-Natal Leave - 8 hours paid leave to attend the routine appointments associated with parenthood and or pregnancy.
- IVF Treatment Leave - 16 hours paid leave for the purpose of attending appointments and undertaking IVF treatment.
- 4th Year for MCH Nurses, Immunisation Nurses and Lactation Consultants.
- Reimbursement of AHPRA Registration if we are your primary employer.
- Clinical Supervision Program for all nursing staff.
- MCH nurse Graduate Program (2 years).
- Mentorship, peer support and opportunities to build essential skills and leadership capacity.
- Affirmation and Transition of Gender Leave - Council will provide five (5) days paid administration leave to assist an employee undertaking the transitioning or affirming of their gender.
- Family Violence Leave -** **Refer to the Fair Work Act.

**About you**
- To be successful in these roles you will be able to _satisfy the requirements to work as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse in Victoria and _have:_
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (division1) and Midwife.
- A current Victorian Driver’s licence.
- A current Working with Children Check.
