As inaugural CEO, you will be responsible for setting up Workforce Equipped and will also act as the CoSec.

**Your new company**
Workforce Equipped is the largest of the 10 Job and Skills Councils (JSCs) and is a tri-partite, not-for-profit, with a number of Employee and Employer organisations and Australian Retailers Association (ARA) members as foundation voting members. The organisation will focus on responding to the current and emerging skills needs and workforce challenges of related industries - Retail and Wholesale, Online Sales and Fulfilment, Personal Services, Arts, Tourism, Travel and Hospitality.

**Your new role**
Reporting to the Board, the CEO’s primary objective is to ensure the ongoing success of Workforce Equipped across all aspects of the management and development of the company. The CEO will ensure that the objectives of Workforce Equipped are achieved efficiently and effectively to the highest standard. As the inaugural CEO, you will be responsible for planning, organising and directing all ongoing and special project funding and operations programs for Workforce Equipped and will also act as the company secretary.

**What you'll need to succeed**
The CEO will be an inspirational leader with proven commercial experience who will lead and manage the staff in the execution of all functions contributing to the success of the Workforce Equipped.

The CEO is of critical importance in guiding Workforce Equipped to develop new and imaginative ways of winning and conducting business. The successful CEO will demonstrate proven management, leadership skills and other professional competencies deemed necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.

Selection criteria:
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s Degree equivalent or higher.
- Relevant governance qualifications (AICD, GIA, etc), preferred

Experience
- Track record of being a motivational leader attracting and retaining key talent at executive and leadership levels that deliver on business success.
- Previous experience as a CEO or C - Suite executive in the VET sector (or allied) that has set up business’ from ground up or taken from start-up and successfully grown.
- Strong Governance and Compliance experience.
- Contemporary leader that can demonstrate success in leading diversity and inclusion outcomes in reconciliation, disability inclusion, gender equality and CALD space.
- Demonstrated capacity to think critically and creatively and deliver strategic outcomes through strong project and change management
- Proven track record of executive management, working collaboratively with peers and key staff in the business to influence change through personal interventions.
- Exceptional communicator and ability to undertake high level representation internally and externally.
- Demonstrated experience working with a Board of Directors through the rhythms of Governance required for setting up an enterprise like Workforce Equipped.
- Experience in networking and stakeholder management to deliver innovative outcomes for the representative industry sectors covered.
